SMA Liberator
For all of you who has a collection of LPīs and/or a vague feeling that digital
replay doesnīt give the musical experience, emotionally and dynamically, one
associate with live music, SMA has designed the Liberator. It is
the RIAA amp that can make a Project Debut turntable sound like a high-end table
at ten times itīs price. I am serious, no kidding!!!!
It is the intimate relationship between the cartridge and the first gain stage,
and the interaction between them that are determing the dynamics and the musical
qualities of an analog system. The differences between cartridges, arms and
players are of much smaller magnitude than what is caused by the RIAA amp and
the interaction between the RIAA amp and the cartridge.
The Liberator is handbuilt and hard wired, creating the shortest possible signal
path between input and output, using highest quality components. It is a
dual mono, three-stage, non-inverting, direct
coupled design with passive RIAA EQ. Gain and loading is 40dB, 47k ohm
and 220pF in mm, and 60dB, 100ohm and 10nF as
standard for mc. (can be tailor made upon request.)
The Liberator is designed to work on battery power supply ( 20 - 30V ) but a
mains power supply will be available as an extra.
