Albanus is built from local pine tree at a temporary building slip in the east harbour of Mariehamn. The temporary slip became permanent, and the building of Albanus became the start of what we today call "Sjökvarteret" (sea quarter). This is now the home port of Albanus.
Albanus was launched 24:th of July 1988 together with the Tall Ships Race festival.

| Bunks We have 24 bunks onboard (21 for guests). The bunks is equipped with mattress, pillow and covering. You have to bring your own bedlinen or sleepingbag+pillow case. |
| Galley The galley is equipped with kitchen gear, gas cooker, fridge (no freezer), cold and warm tapwater and porcelain for 50 persons. |
| Toilet Albanus is equipped with two small toilets. There is no shower onboard. Shower and sauna is arranged by request in suitable harbours. |
| Electricity Light and toilets is driven bye onboard batteries. Charging of mobilephones (230 V) is only possible in harbours supplying electricity. |
| Safety The ship is safety equipped according to "passengership area III" |
